Me and my boy (malachi, 10) are going to be converting my first car into a Baja. Bug is a 74 Std with a 1776. My brother crashed it about 2 years ago and it has been pretty much sitting since. Here are the first few tear down pics. Will upload more as we go, and heat permits, as well as lots of questions as we encounter them. Looking forward to sharing our progress as well as hearing your advice and suggestions.
Up next is cutting front and rear and installing the fiberglass!

I started my son in a similar fashion and by the time he graduated High School he had built a couple hundred Bajas at Crumco.
Here is Warren_the 9Yr Old Mechanic, installing the bumper cage on the HiJumper after engine repair.
Very good family activity. Riding offroad after the work is the reward.
At 14 he bought his own Baja bug project with his own funds.
Here he is driving a customer's car in the Mint 400.
