They are correct for '48 and '49 but not later. That said, I agree with Zen. They look great, especially if you paint the logo. I have a set on my '54 and I don't care that they aren't technically correct! _________________ Gone but not forgotten: 1950 Hoffman split (restored in 1966) - another 1950 Hoffman split (restored in 1996) |

love pre 9/52 bugs, but can no longer afford one. So, I have lotza' split parts on my early, 2/55 113
- 1950 non parking, wiper motor
- coffee color steering wheel - a split horn button on my '54 batwing
- NOS Zwitter square weave carpet set with round metal heat outlet grommets
- L deck lid handle
- NOS round horn grill, front fenders
- cog wheel dimple shift knob
- Always looking for more and affordable split stuff. Those large logo hubcaps are the best.

You could use non-logo Porsche style hubcaps on Splits and early Ovals. They are historically correct (and cool) as they were actually used in Finland as original equipment due to a legal dispute between the Finnish VW importer and a Soviet owned company claiming intellectual property rights on the KdF/VW logo. Eventually the Soviets lost the legal battle and from 1954 on Finnish Beetles were equipped with regular VW logoed hubcaps. |
