I'm trying to locate the FCU and ICU modules on my '84 westy 1.9l T3.

The Bentley book is the bible for the T3/Vanagon.. worth having a copy to reference.

Follow the big bundle of wires from the injectors and sensors around the engine bay, back to the big metal box. And I believe the standard/common term for the Digijet itself is the "ECU". (Bentley 24.31 just calls it "Control unit").

Ignition control unit a.k.a. "Hall control unit" (Bentley 28.28 ) should be near the coil on the driver-side wall of the engine bay.

Look for the ECU just forward of the left hand tail light:

And the Ignition Control towards the left front side of the engine bay:

If you remove that module you'll want to use some special paste behind it to assure good conductivity with the heat sink. 'Special' but I have heard that even toothpaste will work well enough.

Thanks for the pics! my plan was to Deoxit the connectors on both units.
