|
|
After staying up past midnight all week finishing up the buggy for a local car show I find the clutch cable barely holding on at 11:45pm the night before the show.
After deciding it won't make it through the trip I turn around to see what I have collecting dust in the garage. I have no idea what I used it for in the past, but there is a spool of aircraft cable, aluminum sleeves, thimbles, and cable clamps... GOLD!!!!
I cut out the old cable and hook up the new one around the pedal assembly.
Then salvage the adjusting bolt from the old cable, and hook the new cable to it with a couple cable clamps.
Worked out way better than I expected, and the car show was great. _________________ 1970 Joe Poty Sand Rover T Bug Pickup, 2095cc |

That's what I have on mine, but left enough of the cable to wrap around and attach. Works great. |
