Everything worked fine up until a few weeks ago. Then the turn signals and hazard stopped working. Replaced the relay, that wasn't it. I pulled the hazard switch it isn't coming apart, checked it out using this I found somewhere on here, and it works as described:

To check the hazard switch, you have to check for a couple of things.
First when the switch is off, you should only have continuity from terminal #15 and the "+" terminal on the switch and nothing between #49a and the "r" and "l" terminals on the switch. There should also be no continuity between the #30 and "+" and #30 and #15.
Second, when you pull the switch on, #15 goes dead and you should now have continuity between #30 and "+", and continuity between #49, black/white and black/green terminals. If the switch fails any of the tests, it is replacement time. |
Brake lights work, when I pull the hazard switch it pops fuse #8. Odd thing is, with key on, engine not running, I turn the turn signal switch and the two red lights go out and won't come back on for awhile. I'm getting stumped, but my suspicion is a bad turn signal switch.
Any ideas before I really start tearing it apart and checking every single wire? _________________ -Andy-

Looks like I'm going to have to tear it apart and trace each wire.
I just took it out for a drive, and while running:
Pulling the hazard switch makes the generator light blink.
Putting the turn signal switch on either side makes the generator light come on solid.
Something is hooked up wrong. Guess I'll be getting real intimate with the bus wiring and the Bentley. _________________ -Andy-

Note that fuse #8 supplies power to the E-switch.
Pull the wires off the E-switch.
Pull the switch out.
Re- connect the wires one at a time until the fuse blows.
That is the circuit you will have the problem in. Trace the circuit.

Disconnect the battery
Pull the wires off the E-switch.
Pull the switch out, clean the plastic area with brake cleaner and a toothbrush so you can see the numbers.
Re- connect the battery and then the wires one at a time matching each color to the terminal number shown on the diagram until the fuse blows.
That is the circuit you will have the problem in. Trace the circuit.

Fixed it for you
Also have a good look at the hazard switch, it may be one of the late style ones that many sellers try to pass off as early, they don't work with combined brake/signals. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.
Please don't PM technical questions, ask your problem in public so everyone can play along. If you think it's too stupid post it here
