Hello,
I need the dimensions for this piece of wood.

I'm working on a '63, not sure if they are all the same.

On that same topic, if anyone has an original and knows wood, I'd be interested to know if it's made of ash or another wood.

The widely spaced grain seems to indicate a soft wood, i.e. spruce, pine, fir.
Hard wood generally has a tight grain.
It looks soft to me.

Here's some Doug Fir:

Just measured the original piece in my 66:
Length - Just barely under 27 1/4" long.
Width - just under 11/16", closer to 21/32"
Mine has a beveled edge on the side facing away from the spare tire well.
Width to bevel - just under 8/16" (tapers the final ~3/16 to the base)
Height (thickness) - 1/4"
Sorry for not being able to measure in metric, which I am sure would be more exact.

The wood is extremely soft. Nothing I can add to what easy e stated on that.

Excellent. Thank you. I'll get busy chopping one out.
