I talked to Casey last night and by 8:00 there were over 250 campers and a little while ago Chris text me that by 9:30 this morning they had over 300 cars, 15 of which were Things! The weather looks awesome so it's probably going to be a record breaking year again!

This show is getting better every year! I've never seen so many busses and Things in one place and the ovals are beautiful. It's not too late to come out if you're close enough and it'll be worth the trip. A perfect day and unbelievable cars.
Not great pics but hopefully good enough to see how big this is getting.

Another air cooled gathering, another EPIC WEEKEND !
I've said it before and I'll say it again...If you can only make it to one VW show a year, MAKE IT THIS ONE
Thanks again to everyone that's involved with putting this show together. You guys really do one hell of a job making this event happen. _________________ Drive your VW... That's what it was made for.

Hi All, Here are more pics from the show. It was a great turnout and the best Air Cooled show I have ever been to. I also met Chris Vallone from Classic VW Bugs.com. Very nice guy and he had some very nice cars at the show as did many others.

It was my first time at the All Air-Cooled Gathering. I was really impressed with the show and the great cars that turned up. Was also nice to the Porsches and especially the Corvairs that turned up - neat to see how GM approaced the rear-engine air-cooled thing in their own way. _________________ 1965 Volkswagen 1500 Variant S

Hey Airride, thanks for posting the pic of the yellow bus, That's mine, I was busy selling in the swap all day and forgot to take a picture. Thanks To everybody that volunteered their time to put on the event. It is truly second to none! Here's a pic of the Valve cover race champ. She had her first go at mig welding to build her racer.

Another great weekend, standing ovation to the Central Jersey Volkswagen Society, from the camping to vending area to valve cover races, everything runs like a well oiled machine, it's hard to believe, but it gets better and better every year. I can't wait for next year already.
I did not take too many pictures Sunday cause I barely moved from my swap space, but I did take some Saturday.
Here are some pictures
Ramon should've called Uber
The softer side of me captured this beautiful image
Even Captain Bertucci showed up at the gathering this year, he showed up drunk though.
Then he proceeded to harass the poor people at the clubhouse who were there just minding their own business
A little foosball action, the tournament came to an end when someone kept spilling drinks onto the field
The Great Chuck P. didn't bring enough to buy from me.

Somebody else will post a better reply but there was a placard inside the car explaining how it is an all - original 1950 vert that supposedly will be restored beginning this November. _________________ Central Jersey VW Society

The car belongs to Bob Cook of Cooker Restorations. It came out of a collection of cars from an old time collector in NC. This was an original swedish car with some great documentation. I believe it is a Dec. 1950 car. Its a rough car but definitely restorable. _________________ New Vintage Specialist.

On behalf of CJVWS, Operation Jersey Cares, and the Swim and Sport Club of Flanders, NJ I would like to thank everyone for their support and generosity without which the AACG couldn't be such a unique event. There are literally dozens upon dozens of people who all make this show possible and without them we could never put on a show of this magnitude. THANK YOU ALL!
And now, onto the results...

This picture pretty much sums up the last weekend, too SHORT.
I have to thank all the CJVWS members for really making me look good this weekend. The perfect weather was also a bonus from Mother Nature herself.
I'm thrilled to read and hear all the positive feedback about The Gathering. I also love to see that so many new people attended the show and had a great time. It's two days after and we are all ready thinking of ways to make the show better. If you have a suggestions, good or bad, please share them here, or PM me. The Samba has always been a great group of people and I appreciate your feedback.
Thank you to everyone who attended and brought their gorgeous cars. It's the people that make The gathering so special.
Don't forget our charity http://operationjerseycares.org/ Amazing folks!
See you all at our last show in Englishtown on October 18th! http://www.etownraceway.com/ _________________ Central Jersey Volkswagen Society - President |
