Read my adventure with this product:
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=629151
I was informed that my diesel radiator was the same as the WBX radiator so I can’t explain why installation was so cockeyed. On mine, there was apparently no way to attach them up top and they are supposed to flap in the hot breeze.
Also, I installed them with the center snap-ins bent the way they came but that turned out to be backwards. I had to bent them the opposite way and by that time the perforation had turned into a major weakness.
I am not convinced this is a good product by GoWesty. _________________ Vanagon ’83 diesel AAZ w/Giles injection, 5spd 4.57R&P+TBD and a '78 diesel Rabbit |

I figured out what I was doing wrong. I didn't have my drill with me.

I just installed a set. I installed the radiator first, then the baffles. I thought the tab was bent the wrong way -- it is not. It does line up with the hole and the plastic rivet keeps it in place. There are also two sheet metal screws on each side of the lower radiator. You'll need to move the hardware from what is left of the old baffles.
I can post photos if needed tomorrow. _________________ Patrick Brown
