62 and 63 Bug Registry

My 62 I just picked up.almost all original. Previous owner painted it (not that great). No rust. No accidents. Chassis and eengine match a Feb 62 production date.

Need to fix some mechanical things then do the interior.

1962 runner I just got. Shipped from California to Oahu, Hawaii. Fixing little things I keep finding here and there like missing bulbs, upside down/loose trim, missing bolts and screws, crooked door, upholstery woes, etc. Had to ditch tires they had lots of dry rot, replaced with Michelin XZX's. Not a correct color either, kind of turquoise/aqua. Making it my own as time progresses. VIN starts with 422, so I'm guessing it was made between Sept and Oct 1961?

I am French and I have just acquired a "1200 De Luxe Sedan" type 113, which rolled off the assembly line at the Wolfsburg factory on June 27, 1963.
It's a model intended for the Italian market.

It has approximately 56,000 km on the odometer.

The chassis and engine numbers match, but I have some doubts about the gearbox, whose serial number seems to date from August 1963...
