So many nice ones on this tread. Hard to choose which one to answer. From the rough to the finished they all represent a vanishing breed. Good for an old man to see you younger guys take pride in these VWs. You owners are all in a class to be envied. The VW is the one car over the years that the original owners wished they had NOT sold. I've heard this statement so many times at shows over the last 40 years from guys and gals who wish they still had their car from years past. Congratulations to all of you that have posted now and the ones to come at a later date.
Reliable, Durable and Desirable--The best production car of all time-bar none including the Model T and the Ford F150.

Super nice. I'm always amazed that the people in the UK, of all all places, love the VW. So many were killed by Germans blitz in WWII and yet the car itself is still held in high regard. This right hand drive is superb! The headliner is well done and impressive. One of the few remaining even with a few changes. Thanks for posting |

Thanks for the kind words
And if it wasn't for us Brits ,the British Army in particular, possibly none of these cars would even exist?
This is a great thread and if any of you owners of those gorgeous convertibles would ever like to sell one across the pond then let me know |

More than "possibly", I'd say "without a doubt". If it wasn't for the British, the factory would have been dismantled, the parts would have been taken to Russia or France within a year of the end of the war, and the German economy would have taken much, much longer to recover. _________________ Central Jersey VW Society
