Half the fun of getting back to my vintage VW roots has been the fun-filled colors. The oranges, greens, wacky plains, pop top yellows, reds, and blues really sing out. It sure makes the modern car palette of silver, black, and white seem quite boring.
My favorites are the early Ghia Pacific Blue and the Sage Green of the bay window era. How about you?

I always liked Niagara Blue and when I got my Bus I was somewhat upset that it was Sierra Yellow... not a color I could really ever choose. However now I think it's a great color:
I do like some of the colors the 1950s/60s Karmann Ghias have and this is my favorite:

What about Sea Sand? Or as I call it, Turkey Turd Brown. No offense, that's what color mine was. |

I've grown quite fond of my Clementine Orange. I wouldn't have chosen it new, but when we found Herbert, we couldn't turn him away, and the orange grew on me like fungus on a turd.

I suppose like my post here, many post about the colors of their favorite old VWs. My fave is Zenith Blue from my '67 Bug. A subtle shade that changes with the ambient lighting.
Next is Clementine, color of my current and only VW, a '71 Fastback. Bright as heck, though a little toned down from the later brighter oranges, so it does change some at sunset or at night.
After these, too many to count! The old desaturated tones really stand the test of time.

It's a tie between L351 Coral Red and L380 Turquoise.
