[colorchocolate]So I got a doozey of a question for everyone here. I drive my baja to work often. Being that this little bug is set up for off-roading it likes to bounce around a lot and the interior inside is very 'spartan' which brings me to my problem: I spill my coffee just about every morning. I have a nice little cranny between the seats on the tunnel I like to set my mug but it's not very reliable.
So before I ruin more mornings with truncated coffee rations, I'm wondering what kind of ways people have come up to hold things inside the cabin of a baja and keep them planted at the same time..
Please don't be afraid to share your ideas. I'm getting desperate.[/color] _________________ Brian H.

What's wrong with between your legs?
Without buying some cheesy cup holder, you're stuck with wedging it somewhere... _________________ foam cowboy hats aren't good helmets. |

Now admittedly, I have never had a Baja, but i've owned some off-road vehicles I tried to tame into drivers, and let me tell you this: hot coffee+ crotch= misery. Just sayin'
How about an insulated tumbler or mug with a lid? |

Roll of duct tape sitting on the passenger side foot well holds drinks just fine. |

It's just a good thing I have all those rust holes through the floor on the passenger side or else you'd swear Juan Valdez drove the thing! I like the duct tape idea. Bet that's not in that coffee table book about duct tape uses.
So far this topic hasn't let me down. I'm hoping for some custom fabbed bits people might have made too. And not just coffee cup holders... _________________ Brian H.

Jugs!! I'd have never thought of that! Piston jugs, that is. The wife would throat kick me for the other kind. _________________ He said to them, “But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one. Luke 22:36

I'd say weld some chromoly tubing to the rear frame horns and tie it into the front beam and roll cage. An oversized bracket, a good shock, and at least a few inches of cup holder travel should hold up nicely. _________________ "when i go to drive it i get to like 5-10 mph it is at high rpms and gets higher the faster i go when i shift up to second the rpms drop is this normal or what and this is my first vw please help" |
