I recently started working on my own bus and found some pretty poor work. All previous work has been done my Advanced Precision. It hadn't ever ran all that well, bogging down when accelerating and not idling well. I cleaned the jets and played with the mixture and it began to idle fine. I played with the accelerator pump as I read you should with the 009 and it runs great. Brandon (the owner) said VWs just run that way. I also noticed when he replaced the battery tray, he just replaced it with flat steel and never mounted it in anyway, leaving it to slide around. I installed some brackets to attach a universal battery mount kit. What pushed me over the edge was when I changed my oil today. I noticed the oil plate wouldn't come off, so I pulled it off with pliers. The screen wouldn't come out and I had to pry it out. Rather than using the gaskets, he used RTV. It took almost 2 hours to get it cleaned. He installed the engine, so it had to be him. His website is http://www.advancedprecisionsolutions.com/ Just hoping to help other people looking for mechanics in Glendale.

I had a great experience buying from Brandon. I contacted him about a CB IDF intake he had for sale. I asked him if he had any bites on just the intake as I was needing heat risers. He said he had not and didn't want to separate them from the intake, but as luck would have it he had an additional new set. He gave me a good price on them and keot good communication. I had posted a wanted ad on the samba months earlier without success. The parts arrived safely and I'm one happy camper!! Thank you Brandon. |
