Yep - This thread is going to make it very easy to sit behind my desk tomorrow and for the rest of the week Laughing

I'll quietly live through this thread for a little bit if you don't mind.

Safe travels.

Craig was busy helping and learning, so I took a few pix.

Craig got right into the action. He also cleaned the shop sink and wife Linda bought us some great pizza for lunch on Monday.

The details:

His bus needed some brake help, but is better now. Still a stiff pedal, running a bay window dual master. I advised trying the correct 67 master that he does have. I cleaned up front and right rear shoes, replaced right rear wheel cylinder and adjusted all brakes, bled rears.

Did valve adjust and all outer valves were tight. This has been a problem for a while. 1600cc single port with doghouse oil cooler and all stock good quality components. Motor built by reputable shop with about 12k miles.

NGK plugs were pretty clean light brown burn. Replaced with Bosch copper plugs. Replaced inline fuel filter behind left rear wheel, added missing fuel line clamps at filter. Checked fuel lines. Checked point gap and lubination.

#4 cylinder exhaust studs and gasket were gone! Replaced them and quieted down exhaust significantly. Craig was ready to bail if this hadn't gotten fixed. *Keep and eye on those studs Craig.*

OE 205 distributor was not advancing and timed at about 20 degrees advanced. Replaced it with a .009 from my own personal stash and the woke right up and is now timed at 5 degrees advace at *50 rpm idle. Distributor points plate was stuck. Freed it up and tested vacuum advance canister, all OK. Craig is carrying this as a yet untested spare.

Last report all was good, not sure where they made to tonight. Likely in Maine somewhere.

Yep, Stan saves the day and has new friends for life, more so if he would get down to the Charlotte Transporter Show soon.
An old friend with a home on the water on the coast of Maine is trying to pull us off track like he did on our previous attempt four years ago, very tempting offers of savory pies and lobster. He'll have to wait three weeks on the return trip.

This jewel sits in Stan's shop:

We ran about 350 miles today from Ocean Orchard Beach, Maine to Fredericton, New Brunswick. The traffic on 95 dwindled to nothing and the roads were open. The weather was good, but the haze obscured some nice views of the Northern Applachians. Linda wanted to see the Victorian architecture of Fredericton and sprung for a B&B in the center of town.

This bus has run every mile of I95 from North to South. I was expecting a bit more fanfare for the terminus of such a monster highway than a single shield that no one has prevented from leaning. If we finish this one we have to go west.

We appreciate your words of encouragement.

New Brunswick is a bit hillier than we expected. It took us three and a half hours to get here from Fredericton

Finally we're on the secondary roads and off that insane run up the coast. We stayed in A provincial park in Pictou, NS.
Pretty much as the consensus told us, Cape Breton is beautiful.
We met two characters at the NS Welcome Center. An octogenarian couple from Arkansas in a water-cooled Vanagon, and a Nova Scotian working at the info desk who is the balance King of the world:

Barry, you were right, it is eye candy in every direction. That was at dawn, about 6:45.

Michael, I swear I did spell it that way, but the phone autocorrected me. I saw a dude in a tartan kilt, but he had on a tie dyed t-shirt.

Ha Craig- Just razzing you- when I came back from CTS I kept referring to buses as "beetle bugs" for weeks- funny how a place gets under your skin.

Have a great trip and take in all that the place has to offer

Yes, Michael, There is a bit of grade to some of the road on the Cabot Trail. We averaged less that fifteen miles an hour because we pulled over at the overlooks so many times. It kills me to admit it, but it's prettier than the Blue Ridge Parkway. It's like the BRP with a bit of Big Sur. We stopped early today at the Broad Cove Campground and swam in the Atlantic. We froze our asses off last night and this morning, yet it is warm and sunny enough to swim in the Ocean this afternoon. The pink granite is noteworthy, especially where it is the principlal aggregate for the road; you get pink highways. I tried to upload a few photos, but the connection is poor. Tomorrow we go to Sydney and Monday we're on the Ferry to Newfoundland.
Tasb, you can get that shot any any large bus campout in the Southeast.
