This is a January 1959 Dove Blue Kombi Rebuild.

In 2010 I found this bus here in TheSamba classifieds For $300 in Baton Rouge LA.

Removed what was left of the cargo floor.

Sand blasted frame and underside and applied two-part epoxy Primer.

Ibeams, cable tubes and shifter tube were not salvageable.

I had these tubes from a 65 standard that was too far gone to be saved.

Originally I had planned on using a flipseat I had since the bulkhead was cut out by a PO.
I had a change of plan when I was able to locate a dove blue bulkhead here on TheSamba.

I found this doveblue dash searching San Diego, CA Craigslist.
Ad stated "pick-up only" I had to basically beg the dude to ship me the dash.
$70 plus shipping and I got my dash.
