My fourth bus dissected in the old horse barn.

All you need is, electricity, welder, clamps and the will to dive in and you can make due with what you have. Very Happy

I would agree with you Brett, start with the switch. It's the only thing that could be wrong. The red and white wire might need to be soldered back.

I finally repaired the right rear turn indicator. The problem was in the switch and was easily fixed by injecting electrical grease into the contacts of the switch using a syringe.

Made it home safely from NoDough and brought back with a hinge-pin remover, so not all is bad.

Replacing mirror-arms.

Right mirror arm was broken off. Ground off top and bottom existing mirror-arm and used a hinge-pin remover.

Now the fun part, installing mirror-arms for both sides.
I noticed there were two fiber washers from the drivers mirror-arm.
Does anyone know were to get some.

I placed the arms I got from JORG in the freezer for two days. Cleaned hinge-pin holes and greased before trying to insert. I tried with no luck.

Bus will be down till I figure out a way install mirror-arms.

Good question Paul. I will measure new arms to original pin in pass door.
Thanks for Marks ad.

Like the seller in the ad states how used ones crumble, they are the same washers as the fiber washers used on the wing window tensioner, in case you want used ones.

I measured the original hinge pin from passenger door and the new mirror arms.

Original hinge pin = 7.74mm

New mirror arms = 7.87mm

Difference is .13mm

Original hardware was a very tight fit and doors did not have any slop at hinges.

Yikes, looks like it's time to find another source for mirror arms or take the ones you have to a machinist. I would not ream the hinges, unless you have the reamer.

Best of luck

Mirror-arms installed.

I changed the setting to fractions on my micrometer.
New posts measured 5/16

I used a 1/64 smaller drill bit by hand power, bit went thru very snug.

Wet sanded posts with 800 grit then lubed. Posts went in tight after four times wet-sanding and placing in freezer.

Dummy me dropped one mirror and crack!!!

Next project is getting an extra set of door, and pop-out frames ready for paint. New safari frames are rusting already and not liking the white.

On my second oil change since first drive, decided to remove front floor mat to clean out sand from AKJ Ginnie Springs campout.

I found a very small fuel leak at the reserve valve, siphoned fuel from tank and removed valve for rebuild. I really should have rebuilt the valve before I put bus together.

I had that happen too and just wanted to say you definitely need a new tumbler.
Someone "fixed" mine - it didn't last.

Is that the key for the tumbler?
Because normally all the little wafers are smooth with the tumbler when the right key is installed - otherwise it can't turn inside the handle, unless the handle is stripped.
