Sorry to get off subject, but where'd you get that cool VW key bottle opener?

Someone "fixed" mine - it didn't last.

Is that the key for the tumbler?
Because normally all the little wafers are smooth with the tumbler when the right key is installed - otherwise it can't turn inside the handle, unless the handle is stripped.

Good eye, not the case here the key is not pushed all the way in.
Fortunately my bus had the matching lock set. I used the number on drivers door handle get a key made and the same key worked for the ignition.

There was a guy overseas making them and selling them on TheSamba.
I do not remember the name of said person.

I did a search and it was a guy from Australia but he hasn't used the site since 2013.

I did notice this current ad for some Bus ones:

Your experience may vary but I had to buy an entire handle to get one.

New sounds good if tumblers are interchangeable.

No new pics of inside. Recovered rear seat and purchased a mat for cargo area.
Will post some progress soon.

I noticed a oil drip coming from the transaxle nosecone,

I originally went with the concept-one nosecone because it was the only way at the time to adapt a tunnel trans in a splitcase trans bus.
Adapter required grinding off metal material and I may have ground too much metal when installing concept-one adapter.

I also had trouble installing transaxle as the rear trans mounts were positioned too far back. I had to use a prybar to line up holes for bolts.

Ordered a lolly-pop adapter to replace the concept-one.

Removed engine and transaxle.

Lollypop adapter bolts up easily, Supplied allen bolts are for mounting adapter to bus. Found out the hard way when trying to install transaxle.

Trans install was way easier with the lolly-pop adapter. Engine installed, now it time to have fun driving again.
