First camping trip!

Last weekend, Cove Creek group campground in Pisgah National Forest. I check for this very-hard-to-get site every month or so because of how reservations work on it, people cancel a lot- you can reserve 365 days in advance, it's very competitive, and you can reserve 14 day windows- in other words, if you want the weekend of April 8-11, you have to reserve March 25-April 11 and then cancel the days you don't want.

Anyhoo, magic! It was available. 10 or so friends and their families, lots of mountain biking, fireside drinking and laughing, the best. Van was awesome to camp in, LOVE the EVC amenities. Temps were in the high 20's in the mornings, the furnace worked great!

@mikemtnbike That's awesome. I have a very old Litespeed Tsali that I still absolutely adore. I know they name a lot of their bikes after the wonderful trails you have out there.

A nice little outing camped just south of Whistler. First time for us camping to go skiing. Dry afternoon campfire on Easter Sunday then we got a full on heavy snowfall powder day skiing Sunday.

Nestled in a grove of bay trees off the Sonoma coast at Gualala Point Regional Park in Northern California.

This post is more about my dogs but the campsite is pretty amazing too. Paint Creek campground Cherokee National Forest Tennessee. Right at one hour from the house, creek side camping private quiet cheap, great mountain biking, hiking, and swimming from the campsite.

A photographer I am not.

First pic is the greatest dog ever. He’s 16 and can still go for hour long hikes and camp all weekend, deaf as a stump. In his prime, 30 mile mountain bike rides, surfing, and more personality than most people.

Second dog is a “ younger” 10. Not an athlete more of an emo dog. Guards and loves us more than anything she’s a furry mess. She loves this campground more than almost anywhere else one of the hikes we do is along the creek for miles and she can water buffalo it her favorite.

Also falling more and more for the EVC. In every way other than bed set-up/ comfort better than our vanagon was. So much storage so much fun to drive! And she has a name now, “Marzivan.”
