Heyo!
I just moved to Seattle (Ballard) a couple months ago. Loving it! I'm looking for some like minded individuals who are into VW's. Cal-Look, Type 2's new and old (yes, even Vanagon's which seem to be EVERYWHERE up here!), type 3's, vintage, race, I love them all. I'm also into vintage bikes, Klunkers (single speed rigid mountain bikes) and pretty much anything else on two wheels. Ohh, and BEER. I really want to just hang out, wrench, and maybe have a few brews with someone who understands which planet I'm from
Please PM me or reply to this thread asap. I'm bored out of my mind!!! _________________ EMPI Power Rules! |

Umm... thanks, but I save the touristy stuff for... tourists
Just looking for everyday wrenching, BSing, bench racing, beer drinking, etc. I'm without a workspace of my own for the first time in my life, so I'm going a little crazy without having something like that at my disposal. _________________ EMPI Power Rules! |

The veedub mulisha is based out of federal way but it's a invite only club
Best way to get in with them is to hang out in the pits at the races
the kahiko kula's are spread out mostly in the lower sound area great group of guys but again you will need to make friends with them at the shows to get in with the group
The cascade kombis are out of seattle but honestly i've never seen or heard of them doing much other then vintagemeet
Most of the active vw crowd that i know about are outside of the seattle area _________________ '60 15 window walkthrough

Cascade Kombis does a monthly Camping trip around the Sound.
If you are on Facebook, check out PNW Dud-folk.
Also the XXX Fall-fling is coming up September 27th at the XXX Rootbeer drive in in Issaquah.
I move back to Port Orchard in December, I cant wait to be back in the Northwest with all the VW people in that area! |

Everett is a fucking ghetto now I would pick Bremerton
to the OP there is a show at pacific raceways in kent this Saturday would be a good place to meet people
then Yakima is next weekend a lot of people from this side of the mountains go to that one also
the XXX fall show is hit or miss if it's raining that day it ends up being a waterpumper paradise _________________ '60 15 window walkthrough

The VW show at XXX is usually pretty popular, which explains why it's the only show they do twice each year there. But of course the problem is the timing: half the time it's wet. Last year one of the XXX shows was very wet and cold, but all three parking lots (XXX, Virginia Mason, and Staples) were still packed. Wet or dry, XXX is a must IMO. You'll meet and talk with lots of people in the scene around here no matter what the weather.
For Cali Army Guy: if you love meth, meth heads, random drive by shootings, and petty theft, then definitely go Everett. Bremerton is a far better choice. |

The Cascade Kombis meet on the first Tuesday of each month at Spiro's in Shoreline for pizza and beer. Anyone with an interest in air-cooled VWs is welcome.

There is a show this coming weekend in Moxee (next to Yakima) which is the last show of the year and a good time. _________________ The Obsolete Air-Cooled Documentation Project http://oacdp.org/ |

Indeed...Everett is the county seat and a destitute for vagrants, bums, meth heads, junkies, mentally ill and whatever other low lives who like to bleed off the system. _________________ 1972 Westy Hardtop/Type-4 2056cc

Thanks all!!
I was at the VW Nationals last weekend, but only briefly as I had company with me and didn't want to bore them too much
I am also planning on attending the event in Yakima this weekend.
Any more info on this XXX event? I see nothing about it online...
I'm in Ballard, like I mentioned there is about a million Vanagon's up here, but also a fair amount of Beetles (mostly late models), a few Ghia's, and I also see a orange/white split bus driving around every now and then.
I just came from an area where I knew every aircooled in a hundred mile radius, so I'm getting to know my new surroundings. It's refreshing. _________________ EMPI Power Rules! |

Scroll down the page and you'll see the calendar. The VW show is on the 27th of this month (all XXX shows are on Sundays). The time says 12pm, but most people show up a bit earlier than that- like 10 or 11. When you arrive just park anywhere you find a spot. If the XXX and Virginia Mason parking lots are full go directly across the street to the side lot of the Staples. |

What are you driving so we know what to look for? I'll be in either a dark blue 70 Beetle or an orange and white 69 Bay window. |

Unfortunately my VW's will stay in AZ until we have proper accommodations (garage) for them. Renting until then
I'll keep an eye out for you! _________________ EMPI Power Rules! |

If that was a joke, that's pretty poor taste.
