Just a quick question. I have the birth certificate from VW. Are you guys quoting the day it started on the assembly or when it was finished? Or the date on the M-code plate(which would be the first day I guess)? |
I would think that the bus would be made in less than a day. _________________ 1973 beetle |

My Single Cab was built on 3 July, 1958
It left the factory on July 10th, 1958, shipped to Los Angeles.
This year was it's first 50th anniversary.

Anybody have anything close to 245003774? 65 Deluxe built early August of 64.
My wife's b-day is Aug 1 and mine is Aug 4. I'd love it if my bus shares either b-day. No m-plate and the birth cert. didn't list any dates, only 65 model year.
On a side note, my buddy Todd has a 71 bay born on my b-day in 70. _________________ People get cancer and we try to fix it.

Here's an old pic.
Progress has been pretty good since I got it in April. I hope to be cutting and welding this winter and bodywork/paint in the spring. I tried to get back to OG paint with about 50:50 results. (Pearl white)
I drive it at least a couple times a week, and will continue until the salt flies. |

Very cool! Mine was originally Pearl White, but a previous owner had it (save for speedo pod, who knows why!) painted what he called "surf green". Someday way down the road when I get heaps of metal work done, I'll repaint it! _________________ 9th Owner of a 1971 Tintop Westy

I always get a bit mixed up with birthdates.
My M-code plate says 31 Jan 63.
My birth certificate from Volkswagen states
production date (I'm guessing thats the roll out date) as 6 Feb 63.
I kinda observe both dates. Gonna take the wife to dinner in the bus on
6 Feb. Probably go for a "cruise" on the 31 of Jan after a wash and wax.
My bus is a walk-thru, 15 window. VIN# 1 062 827 |

How cool is that! |
