I drew up some mock ups of the dash that I want to install.
Take a look and tell me which you prefer.
I am leaning towards # 3
I will make a hard mockup from fiber board, then do one in metal. Smoke lexan may be cool as well...

Is this Thing going to fly?! I kind of like No. 2. But 3 is also nice. Where are you going to put the Flap Handel?
I like it simple, a speedo (stock) with an autometer skin to match my monster tach. Other than that I consider to put a oil temp gauge in, as I think that this is the most important (missing) information. By the way, before I would put a Volt Meter in a car I'd mount a Amp Meter. This tells you more about your electrical system.
Greetings

I just revised it, this is the one that I think that I will go with.
https://www.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/146969.jpg
I found out some interesting things, if you look close at your dash, the speedo is not centered on the wheel. It is off center by more than a half inch.
I corrected that with this dash. The two center gauges (tach and speedo) are center in the wheel.
If anyone would like a full sized printed copy, or the original Visio file, just ask.
Enjoy, and thanks for the input.

The revision looks good- less cluttered. What gauges do you plan to run?
Tach, speedo, oil pressure, head temp, oil temp, ammeter, and clock would still leave you with one "blank". _________________ OG JHC

Got it. i assumed you were going to be running a stock speedo, with integral fuel gauge. _________________ OG JHC

No, with all the other gauges I perfer tohave them all look the same.
It would be diificult to place to guages the size of the speedo in that dash.
