|
|
I founded a 7 digits number, stamped under the back seat, on the floor pan, left side, next to the exit of brake tube.
Car was produced in august of 52 (VIN 1-0376***)
What is this mysterious -0393265- ?

That is the frame number , not the vin. There should be also a nr on the front beam, not the same nr. On the wagenbegleitkarten this nr is written with all the other nrs like engine, vin, key, color, date of delivery, dealership . It is rare that such a card is in hands of the owner. On hebs and Karmann's I have a few examples. _________________ Zelensis, glassfibre body made in Belgium , disigned and built on a VW platform About 25 body's built.

Thank you Peter, for the fast reply.
Do those "Wagenbegleitkarten" came with the car, and stay to the dealer (or importer) archives?
How does it looked like?
I asked "Stiftung AutoMuseum" for the birth certificat of this car, and they have not so much informations (VIN + color + 2 Mcodes)... _________________ Il est grand le mystère de la DR |

Wow! The ultimate source of informations about a car...
"Auftragsnummer" and "Rechnungsnummer" fields are probably witness of the relation between Werk and importer (Amag for my car). Those informations are not for the basic customer.
For sure very rare document... and the only one to attest of the truth about "matching numbers" or not _________________ Il est grand le mystère de la DR |
