Yes those I comply with. THey are still gold on the 64's air cleaner I just redid.
Hijack away Scott! I love to kick around T3's even if not specific to this actual build. Ev may say otherwise on keeping content in its own space.
Some funny mentions on the build thus far. When looking for the gen gasket to fan housing - I couldn't find one. So Pedro sent me an nos one. Then Im looking through boxes later and find a used one. Random and hidden in other vw crap Then to top it off I find the og one in the car
I had to have recliners. So I feverishly searched and found a used set in Poland or Lithuania cant remember. Got them, cleaned and painted them only to find an nos set was it from Mario? Sold on the used and have since bought 3 drivers and one more "set" all nos. Some of you have seen Im trying to now sell. Still need to send off Whitticks boxed driver.
But in large Finding parts seems to be at an all time high. Social media has connected us more than ever. Im excited to see what I can find out there.
A big thanks to all thats pitched in and helped so far. You know who you are and Im debited until I buy that beer I promise all the time.
Still need to get the sucker started. Have to balance that with a deck project going on.

As with any refurb and or restoration of an old car, expect the unexpected. In my case it was a rotten gas tank. The large scales of chunky rust I found in it were amazing. Ive never seen a tank anywhere that bad. Not wanting to fix it, I looked out for another better used one. What I found was neat to say the least.
I peppered the regular hitters in the classys and found more than one suitable example at what I thought a fair price - thanks to any of you willing to haggle. But I saw one ugly one not to far from me here in Seattle. The insides looked amazing and the price was super cheap relatively. So I ventured South yesterday and found a nicer than picked tank and a cool VW dude I never met.
The tank is from this featured cover car from the November 1984 VWTrend's Mag. It was coated in plasti coat Yes an excepted "detail" back int the day along with dual wipers and chrome tin. The guy I met (who can chime in if reads this) has the squareback and big plans for it. Needless to say not needing the tank.
So I stripped the top and primered it. Ill paint today in Satin Black.

Done. Put it home in the front trunk. Replaced the retaining brackets with OG ones, painted the spare tire well also. Then got my greasy hands all over it.

I was being serious Mister. The bench and tools are nicely laid out on clean rags. It looks organized.
There's that metal magician who does the metal work on the early split bugs. His shop looks immaculately clean. I love it. _________________ Contact me at [email protected]

I'd love a notch for sure! However, my gal is pretty important to me and she'd kick my ass to the curb if I bought another VW. _________________ Contact me at [email protected]

I know the feelings. Acquiring another type 3 when there are other 5 or more vws in the garage enlessly being wrecked, accessorized, and being fixed even if everything is functioning well is a thing that wives would always intervene. Isn't that part of the VW hobby? _________________ '67 KG Cabrio (Mickey) ;

My wife just avoids the shop and has stopped asking questions about all the cars sitting around here. She's a keeper. _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! Я з Україною.

I've been with my fiance for 4.5 years. She avoids the garage as she's not the kind of girl to jump in and help out there. She's a girly, girl. I LOVE that about her! My garage is my domain where I can escape! _________________ Contact me at [email protected]
