If I lived in Florida I wouldn't want a trailer. The number of toll roads that have sprung up there in the last couple of years is crazy. When I drove across last I didn't notice if they charged you extra for a trailer; most do. Last time I drove to RI with a trailer I think I dropped like $40 in tolls. Probable shouldn't have gone through Boston. _________________ 1979 Westfalia "FireFly" Subaru 2.2 with Subaru gears 5spd.

Us'en Mericans hate dem unfar gasoline taxes, what cost us 2 cents per mile. Dem tolls hast to be better as we'uns only hast to pay em to use certain roads. |

I have a solution to get all that weight completely off the bus and yet still in the exact same place. It's called a swivel wheel and you have it under the load and have the frame attach at two points to the frame of the bus so it can move up and down. It's the same as towing a single wheel trailer except you would be pushing it. _________________ 1971 Deluxe Sunroof Bay 1905 stroker, dual idf40's, 74mm Scat forged crank, engle 110 cam. Thanks. I'm also re-doing the cage. I'm amazed about how much lift I got after moving the spare tire and the fire extinguishers. |

don't you want to run a bead down the vertical sides of those adjustersl, not just the top and bottom?? I have never installed that style of adjuster before but it seems like you don't want to leave to load to be handled only by one weld in tension and the other in compression, when you can distribute the total load to the sides in shear as well. _________________ 1973 Campmobile http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=524511&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

I would be careful to monitor the springs to see if they are going to sag and break some day. If you lift them off the bump stops, they will have room to come down even more because of the weight on the nose. Right now they can't bend because the bump stops are holding them. _________________ 1971 Deluxe Sunroof Bay 1905 stroker, dual idf40's, 74mm Scat forged crank, engle 110 cam. Mm, physics is one of the sciences, so I think we're all winners. Plus, the people who are driving around that bus will benefit too, in an emergency maneuver! _________________ Learn how your vintage VW works. And why it doesn't!
