Wipers are successfully installed and emblem is on 😄
Need to drill a hole for the rubber safari thingy for the wipers … scared 😱
Starting to look like a functional bus
It is a 64 bus
Wiper motor is a single speed one.. ? Only 2 connection on it ground
And power, original was a 6v and i converted the motor to 12v
When i power them on I’m thinking they going to fast
Switch was a simple on/off
When i disassembled the whole thing i found those 2 components
Under the dash it seem they are resistors
Could it be they where in between the wiper motor to slow it down ?
Or do they have another purpose ? Usa made ? Not original parts I guess ?
Gone make my own wiring, old one was to far gone

Before 🤭
Looks way better 😄 and safer 🔥
Front of the bus is fully wired and operational
Fuse box is not an original model… did go for an more modern,
and reliable one in my opinion.
After double checking… let's hope i didn't forget anything 😬
Added a voltage regulator and now wiper speed is adjustable 👌🏻
New fuel tank is in 🎉 what a pain to install without damaging the paint

i don't fault you for using more modern fuses. really no reason to go much more modern. of course a modern programmable PDU would eliminate all fuses and relays..... much more expensive, though. _________________ regards

What's the black ring at the top of the heater tube? Extra seal?
The safari latches go the other way, if you want to match the factory
|
it also makes it where you can actually hit the little button and turn it at the same time. pretty tricky when they are mounted the other way. _________________ regards

A programmable PDU would be nice indeed. Would be a waste of money and of its potential. not even one relay installed in the bus only a flasher unit, way to basic electrical system. also more used with touch display would be a shame to delete the original buttons
The black strap on the heater tube is a cable tie 😁
Did not know about the safari latches 🤔
They came like this on the aftermarket windows
Now figuring out the brake lines 🤔

Your bus is looking really nice!
If you have any spare paint for the upper body color... it's a nice finishing touch to have the emblem with the correct paint split, between the "V" and the "W."
Here's an original paint emblem:

Evan beat me to it! Such a small detail, but you will see how that little line of paint makes the whole thing pop.
It all looks great, as in exceptionally well done! Keep at it! _________________ ,,Wenige Menschen denken, und doch wollen alle entscheiden.'' -der Alte Fritz

Throttle fixed 👍🏻 Thanks
Works better
A bit of guessing for the brake lines ... not fully satisfied with the result
Missing a hole for the brake line to the back of the bus ? 🤔😅
Drums are on, brakes regulated, speedometer cable installed
Making progress 🎉

Yes, the brake line should be located between the clutch cable conduit and the flange of the intermediate brace.

Great progress sofar!!
Did not know about these seals (those bigger ones where they pass the panel) for the clutch and e-brake cables??
Where did you get these and have the reference by any chance? Could not find them back immediately? _________________ 356 Outlaw built: https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=430774&highlight= |
