If those are original five lug bolt pattern, they should fit. |

Is bolt pattern it, though? Or do we care about offset, weight limits, and size?
If you're pushing the bus around the yard, then they're perfect. If you're taking the bus out on the road with those, please be sure that the weight requirements of the bus are exceeded, for the safety of those around you. If you value your wheel bearings and spindles, you'll also want to make sure the weight offset is 100% correct before putting any serious road time on them.
I do not think VW would have designed a bus-specific rim unless the really thought the bug rim was inadequate. I SERIOUSLY doubt the aftermarket bean counters would encourage a product to be made to exceed safety requirements for both cars…

That being an "H" case, check it thoroughly, well known for cracks around/behind #3 and pulled studs. Quite a few consider replacing these cases instead of rebuilding them. _________________ '65 Karmann Ghia 'vert

So after getting the P&Cs off, just a bit to much endplay... ended up cracking the case open and will be getting it line linebored and add case savers.
moved on and opened up the gas tank area, remove the tank...
It was pretty crusty inside it.
priced a new empi one and will check with a radiator shop to see what it would cost to refurbish the original.
on another note, a friend gave me a childs cot. so now I have both cots.
I did get the Continental Vanco 8's for the wheels, hope to have some photos of them up today. _________________ ROBERT

Don't get an empi tank if you're going to buy one, get the Wolfsburg West tank. I like the bus, congrats. _________________ "A rolling bus gathers no rust." |

Nice work. Nothing better than a Westy IMO. I have a question about your exhaust. I love the tone of that style exhaust and used to run them on my bugs. Now I have a 71 Westy and I am wondering if it will work on my bus with the rear bumper. Seems like everyone I see that has one has no rear bumper. I see them for sale for the types and I don't want to spend the cash if it won't fit with my bumper on. _________________ 1971 Tin Top Westy Campmobile 70 |

I have the bumper, a few other friends run this style and had no issues...
a couple ran the larger pipe mufflers and had to do some fabrication.
Ill see if I can take some pics of theirs _________________ ROBERT

Just been rolling along this summer...
working on what I can, thought I'd add a few pics.
put some crusty truck mirrors on that I picked up cheap at this years transporter show.
Took the top off to clean it up and install the new Canvas Poptop tent.
Its the Amish One that is available on here ... its really a nice canvas...
Only issue I had was that the pattern was not an original canvas... it should be about 1.5" to 2" longer to hide the white strips with the staples. other than that its great and happy with it.
removal of top
cleaned up ready to spray...
Rear top before and after
Had some rot I had to replace... ended up fiberglassing over the replacement pieces...
All Installed now
Test fit putting a 5000 BTU AC in drivers window.
seems to work good... going to make a shelf that hooks to rain gutter for support.
