This is a fine example of the carburetor used by VW from 1946 until 1949. Huf is the manufacturer although this particular specimen does not have any logo's or manufacturer identification. Huf = Hulsbeck und Furst.

These were supplied while Solex rebuilt their factory after the Second World War. The distinguishing characteristic is the choke to throttle linkage.

The only markings on the carburetor are the part numbers, bottom half
Z-Nr 08.101.8 and the top half 08.102.8. In most all other respects the carburetor appears to be a Solex carburetor.

This carburetor was lovingly and expertly restored by Tim at Volkzbitz.

Here is another really early Solex carburetor that has been restored by Tim at Volkzbitz. It is a 26 VFI (no S). It is thought to be an early wartime carburetor- note the cogwheel logo:

The carburetor body has been gently media blasted. The steel parts were re-plated.
