Thanks, all. Now that i have some good information, i tbink i will leave this off, for now. Mostly because the combination of parts i have is not right. But the bus is also garage kept and driven for pleasure only in good weather. Maybe once it is more complete i can worry about making it correct.

Last weekend my fuel pump bit it. I ordered a replacement and waited for it at my FLAPS for hours but it was an overpriced piece of crap that didn't fit- the pushrod and lever wouldnt even connect. Not sure if i got the wrong part or just a bad part. Anyway, it got too late so i had to tow it home. Just received my Wolfsburg West rebuild kit.

Wolfsburg West fuel pump rebuild kit is great. leaked out the diaphragm first time, despite preloading by 14mm as noted in other threads. Second try i just tried to be more careful getting the metal disc on the diaphragm centred before fastening the top. It worked.

I decided to scrap the inline fuel filter given that there is a screen filter in tank and one in the pump.

I am happy to say i met my goal of getting the bus in primer below the belt line by end of summer. I try to keep my goals realistic, given that i need to balance my down time between family and the bus. Insurance is up soon..a couple days to enjoy famuly time in the bus!

I also picked up a full width Westy bench. I need to install it still.

My buddy and i also did all the gutters. Mostly solid, a few patches were needed. Some heavily pitted areas i used Ospho and will cover them up for now. Maybe one day they will get cut out and replaced, but for now it is good enough. This bus will be garage kept from now on...

Patched the lip of the gutter, left the pitted roof here. This was one of the worst spots.

Not much time lately for bus work. Today I got my Westy bench working by replacing the hinges with some that I had.

Also dry fitted the safari window seals..

I started mounting the full width westfalia bed. It needs to be built up by about (edit:) 1/2" so that the hinges sit properly on the engine area. I will put an extra layer of plywood on the bottom of the westy bed. I also had to weld in some pieces on the wheel arch as they didn't quite sit right on the arch. I still need to bolt those in. Edit: I made up some small plates with the two bolts on them so these can be thru-bolted from the underside of the wheel arch.
Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

The hinges don't quite sit right, but it works. The driver's side sits on a raised part:

Whereas the passenger side hinge sits on a flat part. Again, it works fine. Edit: I welded some seat belt anchors to the underside of the rear cargo deck to fasten these bolts into.
Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

Most importantly, I started fastening the safari windows!

First drive with safari windows! No they aren't installed yet, and I couldn't open them, but it was kind of fun nonetheless. Just up and down my street...
