Auto tranny diff adjustment lock?

On manual trannys there is a plastic piece screwed to each side to lock the diff adjusting rings in place so the critical adjustment stays put. What if anything does this job on an auto tranny?

Mark, I have a vague memory of the locks being on the inside of the differential for some reason. Look at 39.50, I can just make out the clip. mark

Thanks Mark, that explains it. It looks like the locks are inside and accessible with the pan removed.
