Byron when you removed the headliner would you say it was ivory or beige? The tiny pieces I can scrounge look to be ivory to me. _________________ 1956 Beetle - Jungle Green.

It was ivory. and i just got my motor back from rimco and am having a good time rebuilding it. All my friends are very anxious to ride in what they call "the hippie van". I keep telling them its a 'bus'! byron _________________ 1957 Oval Window

Remodeling the house has limited time to work on the beetle. Here is what I have gotten done.
Three layers over original paint.
What is left of the jungle green is very thin.
The first paint over the original is the toughest unfortunately.
I plan on seeing it through though, until entire car has factory paint showing _________________ 1956 Beetle - Jungle Green.

Can anybody direct me to or give me information on my mirror/visors? I could not find any like this here or the internet? Is this an optional accessory set?
This is how they attach. You can see D.B.G.M. on the top piece. Deutsches Bundes Gebrauchsmuster. Patented utility model? Did all early VW beetle mirrors have this stamp?

Nice work. I love what you're doing with this- the whole preservation vs. total restoration. Great stuff! _________________ Air does not freeze. Air does not boil.

The driver (left) side of that mirror assembly is what came stock from the factory. If you wanted a passenger (right) side visor, you ordered the other side and by removing 3 screws you installed it.

Thanks Bill.
This is a tourist delivery car. So probably, it was added in with all the other options when ordered? _________________ 1956 Beetle - Jungle Green.

I will be installing new hard brake lines. I have looked through some threads and my Bentley workshop manual and could not find any pictures or diagrams on the proper way to run them.
Could some nice member please post some pics and or direct me to somewhere to find them? Thanks in advance.
Sorry if this is a dumb question. Just looking to get it sorted correctly the first time. _________________ 1956 Beetle - Jungle Green.

Dare I says progress?
Paint removal has been very difficult with little reward. My previous bus re-sprays came off much easier than this. Quite a bit more to go.
Rear driver fender is aftermarket, and not ribbed.
Purchased a passenger taillight housing in better shape than mine. _________________ 1956 Beetle - Jungle Green.
