Yes I searched. Anyone know what size that rivet is that holds the seal to the dust flap in the overhead airbox?

I just used standard aluminum 1/8"(?) pop rivets. I don't remember the length but just tried a few until I found the right one. One good thing about aluminum rivets is that they are easy to drill out if they are the wrong size.

Crofty, I believe you to be very exacting with your work and choices, and you are likely going for stock...

However, like some other folks, I ended up using some nuts and bolts for this job in case I want to remove it/them another time.

In fact, I believe the picture below is from before I realized that I should have done them the other way around.

This doesn't give you the size but when I did mine I took it to the hardware store and picked the ones that fit best.

I'm pretty sure its a 1/8 x 1/8. I bought a box of 3/16 and it was too big.

I just did this a couple weeks ago using these leather rivets. They are about identical to the originals. simple to install. come in brass or other flavors.

I was working on mine today and couldn’t find rivets to fit at the hardware store so I ended up using m4x6 button cap screws and nuts. Also took a few pictures of the original seal and soft rubber skim coat that was used. I ended up using the later bus seal from WW and it pushes on the button heads a bit but it is not bad. It looks like you could cut a front door seal to match the original seal profile.

If ordering from Hansen rivet I believe(no guarantees) D1-7/32-AL should work. You want about a 9/64” diameter and 7/32” length overall. Someday I will order some at 7/32 and 8/32 and try them. If you are really picky you want one with a flat head.

I had a similar issue with the window scraper on my type3.

I ended up using pop-rivets with out the pop/pin. I used a center punch to flare it.
