Does anyone know what the deal is with the long corner trims, whichI've only seen on buses in promotional type images?
At first I wondered if they were only fitted to buses made before the start of deluxe production, as I've never seen them fitted to a deluxe.
But then I realised there were some later barndoors (non piano hinge) with them on:
And even some rear bumper buses with them on:
I'm wondering if the images were modified to add them, did the trims exist in real life? It's hard to tell if they're real in the images, I'm not 100% convinced they're real.
Has anyone ever seen any of these trims in the flesh? Do they appear in any parts books? _________________

Now I´m curious to see rear view images too. Appears to be installed above the normal position.

The trim in that rear view looks to be about the right height, regular corner trims sit a bit lower than that. Shame that petrol pump is in the way _________________

So the long trims have been fitted to really early buses, right through to rear bumper buses
I've not seen them fitted to a deluxe. I thought I found a picture, but it looks to be a modified kombi or standard
Looking at Ben's pictures you can see there is a rubber 'gasket' between the trim and the bodywork. I've never seen that on a deluxe with corner trim, maybe they're not factory fitted? _________________

they are about 85 cm. long ( ca. 34 inch.) I think thats to long for a bumper trim. |

This is just one of the coach built threads from austrobus. Lots of different types of trim. (no pun intended) _________________ 1956 Beetle - Jungle Green.
