We just installed one of these and Ziggy this weekend. I'm editing the video for it now. Yes it's kind of a pain getting a double nut on those studs and backing them out. I believe if you really had to you could just weld a nut onto the Ed of the stud and back it off that way if you can't do the double nut or a vise grips don't work. I believe that on Jerry the bus Gary was unable to get one of them out so it's just got three bolts in it

Yes, I have 3 bolts installed now, and no leaks.
The rubber mounts didn't fit up into the frame members either. It looks like the frame has been bent together a bit.
Hey, my bus is 60 years old, and it's had a rough life! I'm not surprised new parts don't fit so well.

Another VW bus trip out to Big Bend TX. We had 7 buses this year. A 5 day trip. 1280 miles total for me.
We came back a day early. The snow storm was right behind us as we drove home. If we had stayed at out hidden camp site, no one would have known we were there and we couldn't have gotten out.
A great group of VW bus folks to travel with!

This is the "big hill" on the Rio Grande River. Mexico is on the right, TX on the left.

This is the road at the "big hill". My son and grandson were in the yellow bay window.
Get out and drive your bus!!

Incase you're wondering, I haven't given up on SST.
It just seems to be a lot of pieces and parts to put together to make that long of a trip.
It's still on my to do list. I admire the bus drivers that have made it.
