saved her form the junkyard back then, we've had 5 wonderfull years of joy together !
did almost every aircooled car shows in belgium, holland ... the car is too far gone for a resto... so a good body swap and a new set of pans should keep the vin nr alive !
i traded a set of porsche cayenne wheels for a decent body ( 100 times better then my previous one) the new body requires the undersides of the left and right flanks, the nose was hard and straight, also rustfree!, the rear and espically the engine space is very bad, so here we go...
here is my car, the body in a sad state, floorpans welded to the body, several times, also the fenders welded to the body and a lot of bondo and misc. parst on there by the p.o , patched it up as good as we could, lasted for 5 years now (always outdoors in belgian climate)
the new donor body, first things first
some welding
other side
so far so good, no over to the rear, the sides of the engine in the engine bay are different from my old one ? my engine side is straight, this one is curved, so out with the sides
hopefully i can swap them and they will be not too bad from my old car...[/img] |

thanks guys !
yes, this car was a write off about 12 years ago i think, so now getting it going for another 20 plus years .
i don't want to paint it army green again.... (because here in our small country there are dozens of it nowadays...
thinking about ral 7016 or ral 7021, panzergrau / stumpfmatt
that means i have to paint my seats and canvas top in a differtn color than original ...
planning on not running the front bars, and og mirrors, i have an old searchlight/mirror for my driverside...
if i cant find a cheap 3 spoke steering wheel i also want to put that in, first rescueing what can be rescued from my old body |

my last piece of the rear is in !
my helpers came and tilted the body back on the floor with me, now it's sanding time ! they just smiled and left
the only thing i need to weld to the body now is the one around the motor, that piece will hopefully be pulled of my old body, the sizes and shape was different ?
maybe the body was made for a fuel injected one ? |

Hi
What is this colour ?
I prefer something more "greenish" , I would like to try moss grey RAL 7003 https://www.ralcolorchart.com/ral-7003-moss-grey
