I pulled the windows outve my 78. the vent windows metal frame has rotted away but the glass is still good unscratched. does anyone know of any company that sells just the frame seperate from the window? or do i have to buy an entire vent window assembly? |

Just guessing this is one of the two behind a LHD driver, you can also contact someone like Ken Madson at TheBusco, Chris at BustedBus, or Avery's Air Cooled and see if they have a good assembly. It is sort of a pain to try to change to the aftermarket rubber, replace the hinges etc..
I thought that 1978 had sliding windows. _________________ “Most people don’t know what they’re doing, and a lot of them are really good at it.” - George Carlin |

They sell used parts, but some of the used stuff can be literally almost like new, and fit better and easier than reproductions. The added benefit is you get to keep piece of glass as a spare.
ONLY CAVEAT is some late 1977 - 79 bays had green energy efficient glass to be cooler inside so if you have that be sure to specify it. _________________ “Most people don’t know what they’re doing, and a lot of them are really good at it.” - George Carlin |

In their search box enter "rear vent window frame" for your year. |
