Bernardi and Sansossio in Natick is the best place around for VW body work and paint. Ask for Billy Brown, though he has been out on medical leave recently. He has a couple of bugs, currently building a full coil over suspension based 65 that is insane!
See you at the shows! I am in Natick with my 77 Super Vert.

I bit the bullet and re-did the seats. The covers were slowly splitting open on the seams.
...and of course cleaned the carpets while I had the opportunity.

I've had a busy couple of weeks...pulled the engine and took care of the following:
- New (old EOM) intake manifold. Original was cut and sleeved.
- New oil cooler seals
- New intake boots
- Degreased/de-mouse hair/nest engine
- Soda blast/paint tins
- Installed proper valve covers - replaced SCAT covers.
- Pull heads, new pushrod tubes and seals, reinstall and torque
- All new fuel lines (Belmetric non-braided ethanol-ok lines)
- All new exhaust gaskets, and every seal I could get to
- New clutch/throw-out bearing/seal (installed by my 8 year old)
- New hardware (tin screws, exhaust clamps, etc)
- New starter
- New tarboards
- New transmission mounts
- New engine bay seal
- New heater cables
- Replaced a few stripped exhaust studs _________________ 1968 Beetle |

Ciao!
I'm 'Need' from Milan owner of a vw1302 shantung gelb like yours. Unfortunately the former owner painted it in white that's not bad but in the future I'd ike to repaint it in this fantastic and unique color (available only for m.y. 1971). Can you take a close-up pitcure of the paintcode sticker that I saw it's still available in frot luggage lid, on the right?! I'd like to have an original reference of the fonts used to print the color code for my future restoriation!
Thank you and Best Regards
Need - Milan, Italy. |
