Saw this on either craigslist or ebay. Does this belong to anyone here?

That was at the Bug Jam last month. Rusty 1978 Bus with some interesting mods. That bench seat has got to rattle your teeth and leave backside bruises while driving.

I hate to think what it would do to you in a crash... all that splintered wood and broken cast iron!

Cool seat, though.

For my first bus, I really wanted to do a bench front seat. I measured my buddy's late 80's Toyota P/U. Width was the same, seems like a really cool and simple mod. Never did it, but still thinking.... Sure, you lose the 180 degree swiveling passenger seat, but with a bench seat, you can throw everything on there and go!

Just saw that BusDepot is selling one

http://www.busdepot.com/432117

Edit: Guess it's just the upholstery. Not sure what model had a front bench...

I have a source for someone repopping those hinges out of Brazil. I'm planning to bring in a couple sets soon.

I'd consider this option - as long as the safety was documented. I think it would open the interior to multiple other layout configurations.

and yeah, the flip seat bench is pretty epic
ive fantasized about a flipseat dormobile split quite a bit :)

a flip seat bay window bus with a viking spacemaker top could make for a pretty ridiculously epic camping layout IMO :)
