At least 8,5. Living in/around SLC which is roughly 3000 ft or higher I´d go 9-1.

Piston size and crank stroke does not matter.

Do you have single carb or dual carbs?
What is your elevation?
What octane gas do you want to run?

Mmmhh, actually it does. But in those bores you are correct it is minimal.

It has been a while since I was in the SLC area last, so I do not remember which octanes are available. With the W100 cam and 9-1 up there, 89 was the fuel I would use.
If the jump is from 87 to 91 you would have to go with 91.
If you want to be able to use 87 you should set the CR to 8,5
