Got these -8 AN fittings for the full flow hoses. They make for a nice tight seal.

Need the same for my car. Where did you order these and how long are the hoses? I assume you are mounting the external filter to the bumper bracket?

Got the fittings here on ebay in the link below and the hoses I got from Anibal Chico from Chico Perf. He precuts them to length so you can mount the filter housing on the bumper bracket. They measure 18" and 21.5". I have gotten the hose by the ft at places like Summit Racing and Speedway motors before too.

Got some more new parts in to replace the old. Lightened flywheel with kush-lock clutch and power pulley. Still need chromoly gland nut and larger washer for flywheel which I didn't think to order.

You might reconsider using a 'power pulley' on a street-driven motor in a full-bodied car.

From noted air-cooled engine builder Jake Raby:
"In every test I have ever done, I have seen the power pulley add 25 degrees to head temps and generally a solid 10% to oil temps."

Thanks guys, I have used the power pullies in the past in my bugs without a prob. They are cheap enough to swap back to stock size if it gives me overheating issues. Ideally I would like a serp belt setup eventually. I also just swapped the Empi cap and rotor for Bosch ones and added in an Ignitor.

Got a Redline hexbar linkage kit for the Dellorto DRLA carbs I'll be using but the bottom plates needed some clearancing for the emulsion tubes.

Got some more tins on, forgot how much aftermarket tins suck Rolling Eyes . Were kind of a pain to get them to fit right. Still have some tweaking to do on them.

Decided to use an alternator. Got one new for less than $60 shipped at DB Electrical.

Finally finished rebuilding the carbs. Used Berryman's carb dip, cleaned them up pretty good. You can see difference in the two here. Also changed out the oil fill for the upright type.

Haven't had a chance to do much lately but put the fittings in the covers, mounted the breather and got the fuel lines on the carbs hooked up. Still have to clamp everything. Then will be getting back to the body again soon.

Steering wheel I picked up a while back had been painted once already and had some chips, so I sanded it down with 220 and filled in the chips with JB weld.

Painted the rest of the interior parts and finished sanding the JB on the steering wheel and hit it with paint.

I'm no expert with carbs. But I have lately had quite an education regarding linkage sync. In the images above. You have installed the throttle plate extensions. Doing that you have thrown off your linkage sync. The linkage needs to be symmetrical so the carbs open at the exact same time and reach full throttle at the same time. Otherwise your engine will run rough. The down rods should be at the same angle from the cross bar to the throttle shaft plate.

You might consider changing your carb filter bases for a cast aluminum set. The filter bases you have installed are flimsy as evidenced by the angle of the right side cross bar attachment leaning toward the filter. If you leave it like that your gonna have further issues tuning your carbs.

Just trying to help. Your engine look very clean.
