Probably a scam, but perhaps worth a second look.. ??

Scam, I've seen the exact ad copy with different photos in different locations. _________________ '03 MV |

It does look nice, maybe just a linkage problem? Go check it out. _________________ '03 MV |

2003 VW Eurovan - Get ready for spring adventures! - $8200 (Bethesda, MD)
2003 vw eurovan
VIN: WV2MB47013H039485
condition: good
cylinders: 6 cylinders
drive: fwd
fuel: gas
odometer: 156000
paint color: red
size: full-size
title status: clean
transmission: automatic
type: van
Up for sale is our beloved Eurovan that that got us through the early years with 3 kids. It's an awesome van that turns heads everywhere: seats 7, heated front seats, roof rack, chains for tires, AC blows cold, heat blows hot, hitch for towing, table folds out in the back, bench folds down to a 4x6 bed, and it has handled great in all conditions. This was the last year this van was made and there are less available by the year. The van is a daily driver so the vehicle miles are approximate. Shipping is ok, especially because the van is considerably more valuable on the west coast. Rug included too! _________________ '87 Westy in Wolfram Grey Metallic |

Are you sure? There are lots of gasser T3 Dokas and the like registered in Cali, and they were never sold there new. I'm guessing it would be very similar to a '93 model and is now over 25 years old. I desperately want that interior for my van. _________________ Casey--

Yes, this is strange. My '92 T4 DoKa has factory applied decals under the stating that it meets all EPA and DOT including CA standards. I have '93 T4 Weekender here which was sold new in CA. It bears the exact same decals as my DoKa. That said, if the T4 in question has these decals is registering and smogging in CA not simply just an inspection? |

Not saying it couldn't be done. I am not jumping through the hoops to get it done.
There was one of these for sale in Los Angeles a few years back... I researched it and the time and the added expense that I was going to have to put in to it for a registration, smog, etc.. was not worth it. I even considered buying it, gutting it, and putting the interior in a US van... but the owner was pretty dogmatic on his price... _________________ Güdrun -1989 Westfalia - 2013 - 2018

There are both stickers: EPA and DOT compliance. |

If you don't buy this, you're a big fat doody-head. That said, this is probably fake news.

No, that T4 DoKa does exist. As stated in the ad it's in BC. Not legal to import to the US due to age and non compliance.
That canopy on it is reminiscent of the NATO canopy on the T3 military dokas.
This T4 CV Westfalia Camper is a very good unit. Original mature owner. Purchased via the Tourist program. All the work he's listed was done by me last year. It's turn key ready for the next owners.

Can you imagine the price they'd be asking if that were a T3 Doka with A/C, heated seats, rear locker, TDI, re-geared transmission, driver side second row door, NATO box, etc. It would easily be twice the asking price.
That CV also seems to be priced low for what the buyer gets relative to an equivalent T3. It's also importable to the US. Killer deal. _________________ Casey--
