Just sold my rail and sadly I though I was out of the VW's. Theeeeeeen, my dad did his normal odd Christmas present(usually crap 1990's videos and such) and Poof i'm back in business.
Long story some what short his girlfriend's son had a '72 KG that had been sitting that he was willed from the OG owner. Typical story he wanted to restore it but never got around to it, and wasn't a car guy.
Pros
Its been garaged and covered with a car cover.
Paint is 15-20 yrs old but I don't see any bubbles
Its complete (unlike my other long term project-ha)
I haven't found any rat nests...yet
Cons
Its a convertible (for me anyways)
I found a couple dime size holes in the pans
it don't run and he sucked a bunch of old gas through it trying to crank it for my dad.
Thats all I now for now, now we have to drive a couple hours to go get it.
So now that I'm waist deep what do I do. Ha I really don't want to dump a lot into it cuz I'm building a '53 Chevy that is a magnate to green backs. I plan on dumping the fuel and doing a tune up and seeing what happens.
Now that Im committed what do I need to look out for? ha
