Nice score Easy. I remember talking to Randy about this Bus years ago. I asked him why it had an early bumper? I vaguely remember him saying he installed it to throw people off. Pretty neat Bus i'm biased to pearl white myself.

Why, that doesn't sound like something Randy would do! Wink

I'll bet a donut the last code is really a '108'- meaning it was prepped without a solid/popout order for windows before Westfalia got there Jalousies out. Mine has the same code.

I agree, it's 108 not 100.
M-code plate reads for a normal US spec w/t SO-42 westy. The roof tent mounts were added after the car was sold. I would rock the striped tent anyway.
FWIW, I put the poles under the foot of the bed, cross wise to the bus.

Nothing on there says 12V. That is the decoder site decoding it wrong. US spec doesn't include 12V until the 67 model year.
I have not seen a legit source for 002 as pre-heat delete, I think that meaning was made up back in the vanagon.lenti days by a person in a hot climate who was too lazy to install the thermostat assembly on a motor.

So, is it cleaned out and driving already?

Definitely a normal tourist delivery Westy. Post a pic of your Fabrik-Nr. plate as well. I would rock the early tent as Clara mentioned.

Congratulations Evan!

The yellow & grey tent is the foyer tent. The poles go on the center two mounts and the poles for this tent are all different than the red & white privy tent. It looks like you have all the poles for the big tent, although I'd need to see a photo of them laid out on the ground to be certain.

Super weird having no signs of a Fabrik plate, does it look like maybe the bed was re-skinned with laminate?

I see in the loose Westy bits the spice rack hanger (long bracket), one bed support (with yellow vinyl on it), some jalousie windows parts and a front bumper tent bracket.

It doesn't appear to have been messed with.

our 65 walk through westy has no Frabrik plate and now signs of holes that there ever was one. Maybe a 1965 thing?

OK, I think

#1 the S bend looks like it was homemade.

#2 & #3 don't belong to that set

#10 & #11 either don't belong or have been modified

#14 might be one of the bumper support poles but missing the little "S" bend piece at the top. It could be one of the #5 or #10 on the westy chart but missing the end?

#15 #16 #17 don't belong

OK, I think you may be missing #5 & #10. It's possible your #10 and #11 are these but modified?

If I saw this stuff in person I could probably tell you more about what has been modified and where.

Ton's of 65's had them including the earliest known (#14) which was attached to the closet (that seems to be an early SO 42 thing):

Here's another early 65 SO 42:

Looks like a properly (dealer?) installed eberspacher. Is the heater still there? Maybe the dealer installed the roof tent mount as well?

You have two sets of tent bumper mounting nuts, early and late. On the arched tent poles you can see the og early knurled nuts which mount the poles to the bumpers. On the newer tents they had black plastic covers like the lower pics. Score on the little bits and pieces, lots of great little stuff inside there.

Too bad on the weird rust, like above the drivers door. Its not often a bus is better when you get it home compared to how it looked when you were all excited and handed over the cash.... Smile

Get it running and roll it!

Could #2 and #3 poles be part of another set of expandable poles like #12 and #13?

Thx Greg, Clara, Eric, Doug, Todd...

Doug,
Those smaller dia poles are apparently for some other set-up.... might be as you propose?

The underside has the SWR... so, still seems odd to me.

Where'd an Eberspacher go on a walk through?

Same spot as a bench seat bus, in the engine compartment.
