I expect this thread to be locked very soon.
That being said, I recently reached out to a very knowledgeable and respected member of this board (via PM), only to discover I am on their Ignore List.
As I refrain from personal attacks, I am a little confused as to why I am blocked.

I just felt I had to comment on it. I know the individual will not see it (as I am Ignored), but I feel better for having said something.

I just checked and I only have 3 people on my ignore list..
I thought it was longer..

I did not realize that one could tell if someone was ignoring them. Yikes! I am fairly free with the ignore option.

The ignore list function ignore classifieds sales function work great 
Yup, I have a list and am surly on other's lists.
As pointed out in this thread, if you send a pmail to someone with you on their list, you will be informed that you are on the members ignore list and that the pmail will not be sent or received.
You will not see classifieds ads by those who put you on their classifieds ignore list and vica versa.
If this is all new to you, brush up on the forum rules and read Everett's threads on the subject.
When the going gets tough, use the ignore function and get back to a drama-less Samba experience. |

So far, this is a very informative thread and I feel it will help out.
You have done nothing wrong from this end.
Hopefully others feel the same.
We all know how quickly shite hits the fan and than it escalates to MOD intervention.
Not seeing some of the shite has helped me greatly. |

I've never felt the need to use a computer function to ignore anyone. I use my own faculties to skip over posts that I don't care to read.
But, out of curiosity, if you put a member on your ignore list, do you still see other's responses to their posts?

Yes.
In addition, if an ignored poster's comments are quoted in a reply, you will see the portion of the ignored poster's comments that were quoted.
Also, if curiosity gets the best of you (What nonsense is he saying now?), you can click to view the ignored post. |

Some people’s official role here is to troll. Others simply have nothing constructive to add, or give bad Vanagon advice, or fill the page with dire warnings or verbose speculations.
Other are chronically racist and you may not want to see their attitude.
Fortunately these objectional misfits are in the minority.
Yes, if someone replies with a quote you will see a blocked person’s post in the quote paragraph.
