Go back and fix the spelling error in your thread title. It might help someone later doing a search. Wish I had an answer for you. Have you come up with the correct Koni part number in which to search for? _________________ Lead Mechanic: San Diego Air and Space Museum

None of those will fit the rear of your 71.
IIRC they are out of stock. Give them a call to check stock before you order.
Here is a listing of the 71 shocks.

Good luck

TCash - please explain to me why the 801967 and 802110 I posted will not fit. They are the same part numbers you posted. What am I missing here? I think the problem is that the seller has their part numbers to years they will fit crossed. That is also why I told the OP to verify the part number with Koni. I got the numbers from BusDepot. _________________ “Most people don’t know what they’re doing, and a lot of them are really good at it.” - George Carlin |

I stand corrected. The difference is in the 68-69 front shocks.
Thank you

you will like the Koni's a lot better. Any oil filled shock is a better ride in a bay that stiff gas filled shocks. My Koni's feel about the same as heavy duty oil filled Monroe or Gabriel from the 1970's. _________________ “Most people don’t know what they’re doing, and a lot of them are really good at it.” - George Carlin |

Interesting that when you open up those links, you get the part displayed for the particular early Baywindow bus shock in question, which is nice. But if you go to the sidebar on the left of their webpage and select Volkswagen, no options are listed for Transporters. You can also search by Koni brand, but again nothing for Baywindow buses comes up.
What did you guys do to retrieve those part numbers? |

^^ Indeed, this is a topic that comes and goes. Current Bus Depot offerings for my 1973:
http://www.busdepot.com/vw/0/0/23/0/?q=koni
Even paying more by buying with east coast shipping, I would likely go to Bus Depot because of my past favorable dealings.
But... I was simply asking how the part numbers were pulled from the sparktecmotorsports webpage. I saw nothing for Baywindow buses when I went through the front door. No matter! Not really dealing with this issue right now. |

Those guys are a joke. I ordered them months ago, they said they couldn't get them. Never took them off the website. |

Not sure if they have the earlier Bay shocks, but I bought Koni's for my '75 Westy from Shock Warehouse, paying a little over $100 per shock.
Hope this helps!

Well, two fronts and two rears. The part numbers were 80 2110 ($101 each at the time) and 80 2220 ($110 each at the time). I have no idea if these are the correct shocks for your year, though (mind is a '75). It was a good deal at the time for me, though, so Shock Warehouse got my business.
Hope this helps _________________ '75 Campmobile (tin-top to SpaceRoof)

Discounts available at Shockwarehouse for orders made this weekend (heard via email):
Use code SNOW5 for $5 off any shock order over $100
Use code SNOW10 for $10 off any shock order over $200
Use code SNOW20 for $20 off any shock order over $400
Just thought I'd pass that on

I investigated shock warehouse and the tech informed me that the shock for my year vehicle was discontinued and they had nne in stock...Now he could be incorrect. Is the shock the same length as a 75? it seems the narrow winmdow of 70 72 is all that will fit.Bd has them but 100 more than what shock warehouse advertises. The search continues...... I may just have to cough up and go the bd route and they did earn my business _________________ 71 westfalia
