Hello, I am working on an antique tractor and would like to install a 12 volt VW generator.
.Does anyone know the outside diameter of the generator?? Thanks

I just measured 13.25 inches around a 30A 12V Type ! just in front of the pulley.

That makes it 4.22 inches across, assuming a circular cross section generator.

Error estimate is 3.7% in both above

VW's specification for generators was 90mm (early) and 105mm (late) Both 6V and 12V were available in either diameter, but the vast majority of them were 90mm for 6V and 105mm for 12V.

Sounds right... 107 didn't but was numerically consistent with the inch measurements given.
