Doesn't look bad at all, nice score!
I suspect it was born a stationwagon and a PO added the fridge, the M plate behind the LF seat will clear that up. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

Looks pretty clean for how much snow is on the ground there!
That broken rear window is the perfect excuse to swap it for a full size solid window! _________________ 1977 Champagne Transporter Custom Camper.

What would the 9 passenger have for a rear seat?
Would it fold down like a bed or is there a camper version that does?
Does the cabinet on the passenger side come in a camper only?
I would like to somehow eliminate this cabinet and retain the bed function. Is there a seat that goes in the way back that would go all the way across? If I take out this cabinet then there will be a gap between the bed and the window. I want to get that window back so I can look out it when sitting still or driving. Another option I guess would to build a shorter cabinet for a bed stand under the window.
The sink / cooler stand thingie had "Campmobile" sticker on the side of it, a water tank and drains that ran through the floor. The sink has pretty much shattered, the faucet seems ok. I have taken it out and plan on putting it, or parts of it on the classifieds. Might come down to the faucet, some handles and hinges and things. _________________ 1969 Ghia

Somebody's robbed the interior furniture out of a 72 Westfalia and installed it in your bus, not a bad thing if you like to camp. The 74/75 Westfalia had a full width rear seat folding bed, find someone parting one of those out, or modify your RH bed hinge and build your own (basic wood and metal work skills required).
Originally it came with fixed passenger seats in all 3 rows, no camping or cabinets, just an ass hauler.
This is the 8 passenger microbus interior in white (photo's flipped for some reason, the spare should be on the left), yours looked similar except for the full bench front seat.

Removed all seats and carpet, next removing side panels and headliner.
Looks that my floor is pretty solid as far as rust, it will require some cleanup and paint. One dogleg up front needs help and the rear corners.
Six million mice lived in here and a raccoon.
cant wait to power-wash the barnacles off this thing. _________________ 1969 Ghia

Got some gumption up yesterday and pulled the engine on the bus.
Smoked real bad and leaked lots of oil. I think this is a carb kit someone put on it in the past. Would a 1973 originally be fuel injection?
going to go for a quick turnaround. We'll see what that means
I've got some new parts for the ghia right now too.... _________________ 1969 Ghia

The '73 would have had dual carbs, the centre mount was added but not to replace FI.
That assumes it is the engine that came with the Bus.. what is the engine code?

So it looks like thats correct.
1972-73 Bus, 1.7 liter, Dual carb, manual trans
My guess is:
WEBER PROGRESSIVE CARBURETOR 34 DGAS 24/24
found this online by matching the picture, then I saw the 24/24 I don't know about the 34 part.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/162027788018?rmvSB=true
I wouldn't mind going back to original i guess - I have had more luck with that in the past. I have the progressive on the Type 1 and its been ok, but I can see that there are better options. I have heard about heating problems with the single progressive carb on the Type IV. I initially thought for now I'll rebuild this thing and get the mandatory things done first. But the more I read the more I realize its small, obscure, and probably going to cause consternation down the road. Now looking for an OG set of duals, or something like that.

I finally got my bumper back on had to use some Rivnuts which worked pretty good. I have to go back and reset one of them as I must not have had it cinched all the way down (it was freaking cold)
Muffler would not go back on tailpipe was interfering with the bumper mounting bracket - so temporary short stinger (REALLY REALLY LOUD) until I can get my muffler adjusted this weekend.
Sourced a Dash Panel - with tachometer - that'll be nice - get a tach and a working fuel gauge - the sender and the gauge were both out of commission.
going to be a good winter - once I get my heat reinstalled.
