Howdy Linda,

Go up on this page to about half way up and there is a close up photo of the linoleum that Jeremiah stocks. He also has the same pattern in a lighter tan-ish hue, I preferred and choose the grayish hue.

I tried this in my 67 SO42 and didn't hold the table... Sad

BTW I am in the process of replacing the floor with the NLA reproduction...

Let's see...

HI Bill, where is Jeremiah's information to order this material? Also I thought the floor was the same thickness as the 1/8" Baltic birch. I don't know where I read that.

This Lowes material is no longer available and I’m so disappointed I didn’t buy it 2 years ago.

I used 1/4" plywood I think 1/8 would be too thin

What is the adhesive for this linoleum? I was asked in a PM but looking at my roll from https://nlavw.com/interior/528-westfalia-early-bay...results=10 I can't imagine gluing this backing down.

Thanks Neil and Linda,

I purchased this "tin-top" former Sundial Camper (based on a 6 pop-out window 1967 Kombi when new). That foam was installed by me when I tossed out the Sundial interior and converted this Bus way back in 1985 into a Westy SO42 camper interior just after I had the Camper restored and painted. After body and two-tone metallic (I know, I know) paint work was completed, I first had the shell rust-preventative treated than by Ziebart systems inside and out, and then I installed the ex-wall panels set and then the complete Westfalia interior components. and I have used it ever since then. Granted, this old Bus is stored in a nice, dry garage when it isn't out being used and it sure has held up well over the past 35 years that I have owned and operated it.

When we took it completely apart last week in Phoenix at "Modern Relics" in Mesa I was holding my breath as it came apart to see if I would have any "issues". Thankfully everything inside was gorgeous! So we installed the new 1/4" plywood subfloor and linoleum and then buttoned it all back up as we installed the wall panels where the foam is. The ceiling has fiberglass insulation which was in great condition and was also re-used behind the new Baltic Birch ceiling panels with the newly installed restored Westy pop-top assembly. Then all the Westfalia cabinets and hardware went back in and my reproduction (Glen Philcher) curtains finally saw the light of day on the Campmobile.

Another shot of the flooring, the completed Bus out West and a few during the 55 mph (max. speed by my choice) 2,500 mile journey with my wife camping on the way back home to St. Louis.

Not necessarily the right way but how I did mine. I painted the plywood outside the vehicle with good quality white enamel then sprayed 3M 77 to hold the flooring.

Understood BarryL, although I received a message from a member who used NLAVW material with the furry backing and now I'm contemplating returning it. I have glued down regular linoleum without furry backing without incident and now scratching my head about the backing material and it's overall quality. I am guessing your material is not the same as this recent batch from NLAVW, Perhaps he should use "3M 77". I don't feel comfortable about the rest of his comments as to the quality of NLAVW flooring.

He said:
Quote:
I bought theirs, and the regular linoleum glue I purchased from a flooring specialty store is not holding the glue that well with the felt backing. After I put on the metal cargo door seal, it bubbled up by the cargo doors and I cant get it to go back down.

that vinyl gets scratched up very easily. I laid it down a month ago, and I have marks all over it

OG has furry backing. The furniture, once situated, holds the flooring as well as the threshold strip.

so is the verdict glue or no glue? i agree that the original had some some of backing on it which looked more natural. The new repopped vinyl has a more poly blend version of the "fur"

Find out what type of material the repro flooring is. If it is actually real linoleum then glue it to plywood with Forbo 910. If it is vinyl sheet material, then almost any sheet vinyl adhesive will do. I wouldn't use that fuzz stuff.

There's no way that the crap NLAVW sells is linoleum. Its cheap vinyl.

You fart on it and it gets a scuff mark. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

As I have stated before, the linoleum in my Sundial that is 50+ years old is in better shape than the NLAVW crap after one month and two camping trips.

Also I took NLAVW's flooring to a flooring store where I asked them what glue/ adhesive they would recommend for the vinyl onto plywood and they recommended Ultrabond Eco 120 Professional Flooring Adhesive. The NLAVW has only come up near the floor seal by the cargo doors after having 48 hours to dry before putting on the seal.
