original 1989 style, engine typ4 2.0 liter with 40. weber, i think 80 to 90 hp

My first trip across the US in 2014, was made without any sway bars on my buggy. Pikes Peak was a challenge running it flat out.

I put a rear 3/4 inch sway bar on my buggy and the 2015 trip was much better as we went through the 99 miles of S-Curves in Idaho.

I put about 11,000 miles on the buggy without sway bars. And about 15,000 miles with a rear sway bar. Big positive difference. 80 MPH lane change is much more stable. Does not seem to have an affect on it's off road ability. (Ran off road 72 miles at Big Bear Bash in '14 without. Ran off road in Moab in '15 with it) and it does great in the sand at the beach on both coast's with the sway bar.

I have sway bars front and rear. And since I mounted them together with the sporty dampers, the roll of the car (the jacking of the outer wheel) was greatly minimized. The car handles much better.

Have one on my street buggy, and on Auto-x car (no longer mine) , for handling, helps keep roll to minimum, works similar to Z bar in some beetles and camber compensator in SA cars... You can get them for SA or IRS rears...

Ok, next Day next Pics (new member only 5 posting) Smile

The Body with the new color. It´s a plastic dip, the same as a Car Wrap but this made with a Spray gun (sorry for my bad english) Smile

The color is from Mercedes AMG "designo selenitgrau magno". This is a cool color that change in the light from silver to dark grey. All chrome parts glossy black.

Under the dip are sticker to bring a cool 3D effect. The sticker are tribute the first mad max movie. On the hood a skull with the VW sign and on the roll bar on the side (MFP Pursuit special) Main force patrol.

Fantastic! Meticulous detail work in your build!

I especially like this pic - I haven't seen a good pic of a sway bar installed on a swingaxle rear suspension so far.
