Hey,

I was just wondeing if any of you guys new of a site showing you how to install engine standoffs, can you buy a kit or is a a more complex job?

probably the most simple install on a beetle, the only prob is you can no longer use the orig. spring, and the lid will not stay open by itself (must prop it up), just kinda like a spacer simple, bolt on.

You will need to get some longerbolts than the stock ones to adjust them and make it secure, i got mine at home depot

i used a standard spring then cut the longer tab of another one and bolted them together,works fantastic!

Most "kits" come with the longer bolts, and all the hardware you will need to install them.

Wolfgang makes an extension that allows you to use the stock spring when using the deck lid stand offs.

They call it the "Hoodlum"
