Does a 65 model have this style front turns ?

or the bullet style like 68-69?

'65 S models have those turn signals.

Most '65s are S models.

The 68-69 front bullet style were used from 61-63 and from 68-69.

69 have the extra grounding connection on the back side.

The rear taillights are the same shape from 61-69.

Hey Ev-
Didn't home market ("N") models ALL have bullets and stubby rear reflectors- and weren't they painted body colour? I know they had the high- up side markers, no chrome brightwork (except for bumpers) and no clock.

The 68 & 69's also have a built in reflector on the sides (add in piece) of the tail lights. I don't know about the 66's and 67's though.

N models were not only for the home market, they were just for the cheap people to buy. Smile

Yes, N models are like 61-63 models with no beltline chrome, painted rear reflector housings, etc..

They also have Beetle-style short arm rests, no clock, no variable wipers(!), no passenger sun visor, prop rods for the trunk lids, and a few other weird things.

Okay so I here is what I have and the guy who wants to buy has a 65.... From what I gather the rears will fit but will not be "correct" ( if he is even worried about that I do not know) due to them being 68 model with the aforementioned reflector built into the lens.

and the bullets are probably not gonna work for his car either?http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/index.php?alert+200311241511496147

Only the taillights will work.

The front signals would work if he welded up the '65 holes and redrilled everything.

The '68 license light is just wrong for a '65.
